Tianxiang is the largest recreation spot on the eastern section of the Central Cross-Island Highway; many of the travelers on the highway stop here. Tianxiang has food and drink, accommodation, transport, post office, visitors services, temples and scenic spots all the visitor needs.

The multi-level river terrace terrain has welcomed different ethnic groups from ancient times to this day. Standing here, you are surrounded by impressive natural and cultural scenery. We recommend you take your time strolling around Tianxiang, discovering interesting stories.






Notes on the Yue Fei Pavilion - Situated at km 173 on the Central Cross Island Highway, between the Tzumu Bridge and Holiu Camping Ground, the Yue Fei Pavillion is an excellent place to watch the waterfalls on the opposite side of the Liwu River. The pavilion, built early on during the construction of the Central Cross Island Highway, is named after the folk hero of ancient China, Yue Fei. There is a suspension bridge across the river that leads to roads that were used to across the forests of some of the major mountain, Panshi Mountain and Chilai Mountain. This east access point leads to one of the park's Ecological Protection Areas. entry to which is not allowed except with a permit. The bridge is closed to general access and can be dangerous.






Eternal Spring Shrine, also called Changchun Shrine (traditional Chinese: 長春祠; simplified Chinese: 长春祠; pinyin: Chángchūn cí; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tiông-chhun-sû; literally: "Ancestral shrine of Eternal, or Long, Spring"), is a landmark and a memorial shrine complex in Taroko National Park in Taiwan, in Hualian County near town of Xiulin. It is one of the major picturesque points of the park, with the view of the mountains and the waterfall, and one of the main memorials for veterans.

It was planned for construction in 1958 while the Central Cross-Island Highway was built nearby. It commemorates the memory of 212 veterans who died while constructing the highway (1956—1960).

The name of the temple comes from the Changchun Falls that never stop running. The Shrine is located right above the waterfall streams.It has been rebuilt at least twice, after being destroyed by landslides. The most recent shrine was built in 1989. (from wikipedia)
